Film response

this is the link for the film , but you can choose any other movie listen on the paper

Assignment
Students are required to write a 4 to 6 page film reflection. You must choose one of the three films that we watch in class:
Topahdewin: The Gladys Cook Story Killing Us Softly 4
North Country
In your papers, you must draw on course readings and lectures to refer to relevant concepts of Women’s and Gender Studies. Please also address all of the following points in your reflection paper.
1. Briefly summarize the film and your initial response to it. Did you feel uncomfortable watching it and/or did it challenge any of your assumptions? Did you experience difficulty in relating to any part of the film? If so, please try to identify why you felt uncomfortable and what about the film challenged your assumptions. Were you surprised by any part of the film? In your reaction to the film, respond to the question, “Why did I feel this way when watching it?”
2. How does the film relate to Women’s and Gender Studies? Draw on course readings and concepts to discuss the film. In responding to the film, connect it to an issue, article/chapter and/or theory from the course. You must specifically respond to the following question: how does the film address equality? (This can be gender equality, racial equality, class equality or the intersection of all three.)
3. Reflect on the impact the film had on you and write a short critical analysis of the film. When discussing its impact, reflect on whether or not it altered your view of an issue. When critiquing the film, comment on whether or not it was engaging and persuasive. If not, what could it have done better? In order to critique the film, you’ll need to identify the purpose of the film. Did the film serve its purpose? If yes, how? If no, why not? (If the purpose of the film is to entertain, think about how the film made you feel: did it make you laugh, feel angry, sad, inspired, defeated/hopeless, etc.?)
4. Succinctly reflect on what you have learned from the film.
How to structure your essays
INTRODUCTION
In the opening paragraph of your paper, briefly summarize the film and your initial response to it. Be sure to identify the film by its title in the introduction.

BODY OF PAPER
In the body of the paper, expand on your introduction by elaborating on how the film made you feel and discuss the impact it had on you. Refer to specific scenes within the film that resonated with you. Discuss how the film challenged your assumptions and why it made you feel a certain way. Throughout the paper, draw connections between the film, course readings/theories/concepts and your own experience of the film. It is within the body of the paper where you will discuss how the film addresses equality.
CONCLUSION
In the concluding paragraph(s), identify the purpose of the film and critique whether or not the film served its purpose. Be sure to summarize in your conclusion what you have learned from the film.
I highly recommend taking notes while you watch the film. Make note of specific scenes that resonate with you. While watching the film, think about how various scenes make you feel and how the film is expanding your understanding of an issue.
All three DVDs will be on reserve at the Luther Library should you feel the need to watch one of them a second time. You won’t be able to leave the library with the DVD, but you will be able to watch it in the library.
