Globalization impact vs. economic development level.Discuss

– Globalization impact vs. economic development level
Each process has its pros and cons – also globalization.
Please discuss pros and cons of globalization for the following four group of countries: Developed, developing- low cost, transition economies and least developed – see table 1.3 on page 12 of the textbook for the breakdown of the countries into development-level category.
Here are the assigned countries for each group:
1/ Developed – Canada, Germany
2/ Transition economies – Czech Republic, Poland
3/ Low cost – India, Vietnam
4/ Least developed – Ethiopia, Congo
I’m assigning 2 countries per group because in the same group different countries will have different pros and cons and that allows for a better learning experience.
Please focus on the period1500 – 2014. This course focuses on the relationship between globalization and business. So look at pros and cons of globalization that impact businesses. Can you see any trends in the countries if so what kind? Also observe: “Do people in different countries and groups have different perception of globalization” or perhaps explain how different components of the society (age, education, gender) view globalization differently (different pros and cons)”.
The paper is an analysis, not a summary. You will select a minimum of seven academic articles for inclusion in the paper. Wikipedia is not an academic source.
• Research through a variety of sources including academic journals, your textbook, news services, magazines and other publications, online sources (reputable), and other available references.
• Please maintain structure of your paper consistent with the school requirements.
• To help you work on your paper please consider the following framework:
• 1/Introduction: acknowledge that globalization benefits different countries differently but also has negative impacts (also different for different countries).
• Explain what are the main characteristics of the Developed, Low Cost (e.g.what does this mean “low cost”?), Transition and Least Developed
• 2/ Main review – Start listing pros and cons and for each say HOW it impacts this country: E.g. for the developed countries opportunities to offshore that globalization brings result in the loss of jobs in that country – that is a con. Make your list of pros and cons as extensive as you can. That is when you will demonstrate your review of literature and provide depth to your analysis.
• 3/ Conclusions – conclude by analysis of whether in your judgment the selected 8 countries benefited more (more pros) than cons or perhaps very little from globalization or perhaps the benefits were uneven. Who are the possible winners and losers (if any) in the region and WHY. How countries can they take advantage of the pros? How they can prepare to deal with the cons of globalization – what are the dangers of cons to businesses in those countries (current businesses or impact on any opportunities to start new ones).
• Consider in your analysis the issues of sustainability.
• Draw some distinct summary: E.g. It appears that for the countries in group 1 globalization brought more ……. and therefore they are (benefiting, suffering, will benefit more in the future, will face more problems in the future).
• If you follow the above paper structure you will have a solid paper.
• Be sure to clearly source all of your information with proper APA referencing. Follow RRU rules in this area.
• Be careful with “copy and paste”. Your paper will be checked for plagiarism as this is something the school feels strongly about.
• Consult me when in doubt. I’m here to help.
• Length: approximately 1500 words – there will be no penalty for any +/-10% in the world count. Literature sources will not be included in any word count – only your own writing. Good luck.
