A full draft of your Academic Multisource Synthesis essay:

Par. 1: Introduce the topic/literacy you are discussing. What is it? Why is it important? What is misunderstood about it? Where do we see it in action? What will happen if the literacy is not developed (i.e. what are the consequences of illiteracy in that particular area)? What does the research seem to overlook or assume about the topic?

Par. 2-4 should all follow the same basic structure:
a) Take a stance on a particular issue related to your literacy and your sources (perhaps answer one of the research questions you had written down in your notebook). Introduce a source (who is the person, what does he/she do, and what does he/she say about your idea/argument?
b) Quote something the sources says that somehow relates to your stance, whether it helps to explain, affirm, are argue against your stance.
c) Analyze that quote: what does it mean for your field of study? What is confusing about the statement? What needs to be clarified? What does the author seem to overlook or assume in making that statement?
d) Introduce another source and do the same thing you did for the previous source.
e) Explain the relationship between what those sources say: how do they agree and disagree? How does one source help shed light on/further our understanding of the other source?
f) What can we learn about the issue you are exploring in this particular paragraph based on what you and your sources have said? What else needs to be considered/looked at?
