This course will require that you submit a paper on a topic related to healthcare and public health preparedness in the United States. You are free to choose a case study format (e.g., the medical response to the recent earthquake in Haiti or Hurricane KATRINA); an original thought-piece on a topical concern of medical disaster readiness; or an OP-ED style article (which I will encourage you seek publication with if it is of sufficient merit to warrant exposure to the community writ large).
