Pretend you are the editor of a U.S. History textbook. You will certainly want to include Herblock’s work in your book. Unfortunately, space will allow only one or two cartoons, so you will have to choose carefully. Visit the site “Fire!” (http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/herblocks-history/fire.html) and evaluate each of the 12 pieces. Read each explanation and click on each cartoon to enlarge and analyze it.
Then choose one cartoon that you think is best for your book. To complete the assignment, you will need to print the Graded Assignment sheet and use the Cartoon Analysis Worksheet. Read the questions on the Cartoon Analysis Worksheet, and then record your responses on the Graded Assignment sheet.
