FINAL EXAM
Course Purpose. Students will study and practice the components of response to intervention models that track student progress. Methods of progress monitoring will be explored. Course will direct students through the process of data-based decision making and guide students in the models and levels of RTI.
Individual Course Level Objectives (CLOs):
1. Identify the components of Response to Intervention (RTI).
2. Identify the components of research-based data collection curriculum in the RTI framework.
3. Identify components of the data analysis within an RTI framework.
4. Articulate the importance to data collection, analysis, and data-driven decision making in the RTI process.
5. Identify screening instruments for RTI.
6. Identify elements for school wide positive behavior supports.
7. Identify interventions used within the three tiers in the RTI framework.
Directions: Demonstrate your understanding of the course objectives by choosing 3 out of the 7 Course Learning Objectives (CLOs). Your response must be in an essay and/or graphic organizer format that clearly demonstrates both your content knowledge and ability to apply concepts to real world teaching environments. In your response, you must:
1. identify the objective you are responding to by writing the corresponding number and CLO at the start of the response.
2. re-state the objective in your own words and in 2-4 paragraphs, explain how you understand the objective (demonstrate your content knowledge).
3. demonstrate your ability to apply this CLO to a real-world teaching environment by giving at least 3 examples (from your experience or how you envision it working) of how you could use your knowledge of this CLO in your current or future teaching situation. This section should be 2-3 paragraphs.
4. be sure to cite the resources utilized in this course in APA style and use appropriate professional and People-first language throughout your final exam. You do not have to double space your final exam or use a cover page. You should use headings as you see in the example below. You do need to use APA citations within your essays, and also include APA reference page at the end of your essay.
Example:
Essay 1: CLO 1 – Identify the components of Response to Intervention (RTI).
Given the materials used in SPCE 607, I have learned that the components of RTI include… (continue response for 2-4 paragraphs – using APA citations for course materials. Include references at the end of the essays in APA style).
I can demonstrate my understanding of CLO 1 by sharing some examples of how the components of RTI are being implemented in my school (giving examples here). In addition, if my school would add these components, we would more fully implement RTI…
