You are a consultant engaged by an Australian multinational, TechCo. This company produces a range of electronic devices, including a new micro-smart phone, that can fit in your ear. TechCo has sought your advice to assist their selection of a country in which to establish and operate a wholly-owned subsidiary.

Please select one country each from Group 1 and Group 2:
Group 1: Germany, France, Japan, South Korea
Group 2: Brazil, India, Indonesia, Turkey.
In your response, please compare and contrast the issues in the establishment and operation of this new venture, by including the regulatory and institutional frameworks within each country, with a focus on the key IHRM issues, both cultural and functional.

You are not required to provide a decision or recommendation, but only to clearly analyse the main issues and provide your manager with a realistic preview of the challenges involved in each country so they can move forward in that decision- making process.

Please support your essay by using high-quality references, including academic journals and information from NGO’s, and similar international organisations.
Essay Guidance
• Please adequately plan your essay. An essay must include an introduction (a brief summary of what is to come in the essay), a main body (including introduction of theory and conceptual frameworks related to your chosen topic, organisational examples for illustrative purposes and a critical analysis), followed by a conclusion. Failure to adhere to this organizing structure will result in lost marks.
• If you wish, you may include (minimal) subheadings to help organize your material.
• All statements and assertions made throughout your essay must be adequately supported by correct referencing of academic literature. Your essay must include a minimum of 12 academic sources.
• The essay should be typed and at least 1.5 spaced. You must include a 2cm margin on the left hand side of the page for marker comments.
• Online submission through the assignment tool via LMS required.
• The 10% word count policy applies. Students may increase the essay word count of each essay by 10% to 2,200 without additional penalties being applied.
• An essay marking feedback template will be provided through LMS.
