Job Description

SUMMARY: The purpose of the project is to help you write an effective job description, link key duties, responsibilities and skills to a job and to see how an effective resume can be connected to a job.

Part 1: Locate an advertisement for a job that you aspire to have. It should be a position that is a stretch for your background and experience, but a role for which you could be considered a candidate.

Part 2: Translate the advertisement into a job description that follows the general format described in Chapter 4 in the textbook. The finished description should contain all the relevant items necessary for evaluation of the job, identification of key duties, qualifications of the typical incumbent and contain key metrics used to measure successful performance. Write a description that would be used internally, not something used for an advertisement or a job posting.
