1) Select a \”problem focus\” of a lesson. Marylou Dantonio, on page 26 of Collegial Coaching: Inquiry Into the Teaching Self, wrote the following, which can be used as a guide for this assignment:Planning. This is the most important phase of the cycle, since it is here that the teacher and coach frame the \”problem focus\” of the lesson. Here they discuss the teacher\’s purposes for the lesson, specify and sequence the instructional events, identify problems that may arise in delivery, and determine strategies for dealing with the anticipated problems. In terms of students, the coach assists the teacher in specifying on- and off-task behaviors. Planning is concluded as the teacher and coach make decisions about what specifically is to be observed by the coach during lesson implementation, as well as how data will be collected so that it is useful to the teacher in making decisions concerning the effectiveness of the lesson.2) Write a descriptive or narrative essay (1,250-1,500 words) that illustrates this lesson. Dantonio writes, \”In actor\’s language, it is a dress rehearsal; in linebacker\’s language, it is a scrimmage. It offers the coaching partners, time to think through, picture, and understand the teacher\’s lesson plan.\”3) The goal of this essay is to produce a narrative for the Module 6 CLC assignment in which the students will use the essay to inform the observation and reflection cycles of coaching.4) APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.5) This assignment uses a grading rubric. Instructors will be using the rubric to grade the assignment; therefore, students should review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.I have attached the three lecture notes that we have received so far in class and also the grading rubric that the professor will use.
