Pathogen Article

1. Pathogens account for ~3% of all microorganisms and opportunists account for ~10% more. Do an online search or look in reputable scientific literature such as a journal and find an article that deals with a subject that relates to a pathogen or a specific opportunistic pathogen. I mean a reputable scientific article from a source such as science magazine or a website like the CDC or med-line. No crazy websites in other words.

2. Get a copy of the original article by either copying from the journal or printing from the website. Read it carefully!

3. Write a typed, double spaced, and 12pt font summary of the article. DO NOT copy word for word or plagiarize! Write this in your own words and tell me what the article says. This summary must be at LEAST 1.5-2.0 pages long and at LEAST one paragraph should tell me why you chose the article! For example, students typically tell me they chose a certain article because they have a family member or friend or they themselves have a disease or just because they are interested in a subject and want to know more. I am looking for your personal reason for choosing a particular article/organism to write.
