Small businesses represent a unique community in the United States and contribute extensively to the US economy. At the same time, however, they are often constrained in terms of budgets and expertise for typical corporate functions such as security and compliance. This community, therefore can benefit greatly from professional guidance on developing comprehensive, integrated and tailored security strategies to protect key business resources such as cyber, information, intangible and physical assets. Developing a unique security support protocol for small businesses is the first step to a more coordinated and rational protection environment for the small business community.Intro can explain how this paper suggests such an approach and a number of options to help small business owners/managers appropriately balance their attention and resources to IT and Traditional Security demands. (Main problem in my mind: small business owners don\’t have a clue about security risk management and therefore rely almost entirely on vendors who are trying to sell them stuff – and who are probably working on commission. Present some ideas to fix this.)
