You will apply the principles and practices learned in this course to create the most standard of tools used in the media relations practice – a media kit. With the components below in mind, create a media kit for an event, cause, business, or organization of your choice. Be sure to include, at minimum, the following elements: • Contact information • One page pitch letter • One press release (traditional and/or social media) • One fact or FAQ sheet • One feature article and/or news story • One or more bio sheets of key management • One list of testimonials, quotes and/or press coverage • Other* (optional items at your discretion, but not required) Please print your materials in full color and submit in one plastic presentation folder before or during our last class live meeting on May 5, 2015. Your materials should look polished and professional. All content should also be prepared and formatted according to AP style with the standards for each specific element accordingly. SPECIAL NOTE If you would like your materials returned, please also submit a large, self- addressed envelope with prepaid postage.
