In this assignment you will explain the relevant history and current state of debate concerning the policy topic you introduced in your framing paper. After (1) briefly “reintroducing” (i.e., strategically representing) your policy problem, this portion of the case study should (2) utilize an “inter-branch” perspective that discusses legislative, executive, bureaucratic, and judicial activities regarding your chosen subject, including with respect to activities at any and all of the different levels of government (federal, regional, state, local, or combinations thereof) that may be involved. You must also (3) explain the interests and activities of various “stakeholders,” “interest groups,” and other relevant policy actors that are engaged – or might be mobilized into action – concerning your chosen policy arena. My policy topic is standardized testing a necessity? I argue that it is not.
