I strongly suggest reading the directions and the rubric prior to writing the paper. There are specifics that need to be answered. Double check (by using the rubric as a guide) that you have completed all that is necessary to receive the points that you desire. There are sections in all 3 parts that are required in the written paper. This is clearly outlined in the rubric.
Remember that all papers should be in 12 point font, APA formatting and written in essay format including an introduction and conclusion.
Doing and Writing the Paper
Part I:
1. Choose 2 (current or semi current) reality TV shows from the United States.
2. Watch and give the clips from youtube or other streaming videos
Part II:
3. What 2 reality TV shows did you pick?
4. What is each one about? Let me know some (not all) of the main characters and
5. How are they similar?
6. How are they different from one another?
Part III:
For the following questions, answer each question twice (once for each show you selected)…the best way to do this is to write one section (answering all questions) about one show that you picked…then about he second show.
7. What do you think the main message about what is “reality” each one conveys to the viewer? What might some of the other messages be? Do you think that we notice that we are being “taught” these messages?
8. Why do you think people are interested in this show?
9. What is a reason a person would NOT like each of these shows?
10. If an alien were to find a DVD of each of these shows in 1000 years, what would they think life and people were like in 2011 on Earth if they saw it?
11. Do you think shows like this are good for children to watch? Why or why not?
12. Is this show really “ realistic”? Does it reflect “reality?” Why or why not?
