Project description
The Paris agreement aims to hold global mean temperature (GMT) increase at well below 2C, with efforts to limit warming to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels.
In your report, you will explore how these limits came to be determined, and what are the implications globally of 1.5C and 2C increases in GMT. Your report should discuss the differences, in terms of impacts of these two temperature limits. Under 1.5C and 2C GMT increase scenarios, which countries have the most to loose and which counties might actually benefit? You should also explore the feasibility of limiting GMT increase to 1.5C or 2C.
This is a research report, so you will need to support your arguments with examples from peer reviewed scientific literature. The attached paper by Schleussner et al. (2016) should provide a good starting point for your research. You will also be expected to refer to the most recent IPCC report (AR5) and at least 6 published peer reviewed research articles. Use the Harvard (Author Year) reference style. Figures are encouraged, but no more than 3.
The word limit is 1200, you will be penalised for exceeding the word limit.
