My grand said make do and mend= now its trendy!. up-cycling in Austerity and in Suaplus
My grandmother put tea bags and coffee grounds on the roses and made the Sunday roast dinner last a whole week. She could not bare waste and recycled all her clothes: turning a dress into askirt, then an apron, then a set of napkins over the course of textile’s fifty year life. Her napkins will sell as vintage on eBay now for a ridiculous amount, I am glad she is not here to see it- she would be horried.

DO NOT- Reduce the complexities of Vintage or call it trendy oor hot
DO- Use a research proposal to discuss up-cycling as cultural material that responds to flux( eg, of markets, of emotion, of histtory.

2000 words Abstract + Research Design and Outline)
Abstract – 20%
Building on the work you did in your first assignment, you will construct a complete complex academic abstract for an imagined Research Project. Your idea should be original and you will not be led by a call for papers document on this occasion, but you will be assigned general topic areas. Your abstract is a summary of your project idea and should include your research question/problem/idea and your keywords. This small document is as much for you as it is for your reader as you can refer back to it from time to time to remind yourself what you have committed to do. As with your first assignment, your Abstract will be a summary of unique thoughts and ideas that relate to both the topic you have chosen and your personal interests. These two areas should not compete rather they should be woven together. Your statement should be exactly 500 words, including the keywords listed.

Research Design and Outline – 40%
You will follow your Abstract with a Design and Outline submission. This will detail the first stages of a developed research proposal. Using the Abstract, build on your ideas, questions and intent to investigate by narrowing your focus and doing background research with theoretical and secondary sources to form an understanding of the literature and inform your methodology. As before, these should be academically robust and peer-reviewed sources of information. This document should be represented in a fairly developed summary or outline and should not exceed 1,500 words.
