• Students are required to submit a written assessment in the form of a literature review of 1500 words (+ / – 10% as per university policy)
• You may choose the topic for the literature review from a selection of 5 case studies based on medical surgical related subjects as listed below:
o Respiratory/Cardiovascular/Vascular/Renal/Endocrine
o These case studies will be made available to you on the unit’s LMS page
• The students will formulate one nursing care intervention from their chosen case study & provide evidence based current nursing research to justify or oppose the chosen intervention.
• As well as analyzing, interpreting & providing evidence based research to support your position, the presentation of a high standard of grammar, punctuation & sentence structure (syntax) is required.
• Students are advised to review the marking criteria to achieve maximum results for the essay.
• Academic format as indicated in the marking guide refers to 2cm margins, line spacing (1.5 or 2), easy to read font (Arial, Calibri, Times New Roman) in either 11 or 12 point. Pages should be numbered & referencing completed using A.P.A style.
• Your literature review must be sourced from peer-reviewed journal articles not more than 5 years old. You must have a minimum of 15 articles.

She has now been admitted to the medical ward under your care for management and education of her diabetes mellitus.
