SEA Authoritatian

The question for the essay:

Authoritarian and semi-authoritarian governments and leaders have been the dominant form of government in Southeast Asian (SEA) in the post-independence era. Why? What are the key reasons behind the persistence of authoritarianism in SEA? How might SEA be able to move towards politically liberalization (and eventually, democracy)?

The key points:

-Use the three book mentioned below and the articles uploaded. DO NOT use any other sources for this paper.

-Find information about Southeast Asian countries including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Burma in the given sources (books and articles). Comment on all of them regarding the essay question.

-Have a very strong argument and state in the first paragraph (preferably in the last sentence of the first paragraph)
