Discuss two or three of the genres, i.e. a short story, a poem, and/or a play comparatively in terms of any two literary aspects (from our lists of terms or from the textbook). You need to include, as secondary sources commenting on the authors and/or their work, at least one book, at least one website, and at least one article (e.g. in a journal); along with your three primary sources, you will thus have a total of (at least) six sources on your Works Cited page (in alphabetical order).

The length of your essay will be 1000-1200 words, and its structure will be as follows, for example, for a paper in which the thesis is that the authors use metaphor and setting to present a theme of stereotypes in Canadian culture (this example is for explanatory purposes only–please create your own original topic):
PARA 1: Intro. (overview of all three works, unifying theme; last sentence of para is the thesis mentioning authors, works, and literary aspects)
PARA 2: Aspect a and b in work 1, e.g. metaphor and setting
PARA 3: Aspect a and b in work 2,
PARA 4: Aspect a and b in work 3,
PARA 5: Conclusion (reaffirm full thesis, then consider general implications or consequences of the discussion; final sentence goes beyond the works themselves to make an observation about human nature/ society, etc.)
