States and the Medicaid Financial Burden

Medicaid is a federal program that relies upon state contributions in order for healthcare to be provided to lower-income Americans. However, due to the unusual nature of this federal/state partnership, disparities can and do exist between levels of coverage for individual Americans. To what degree, if any, do you believe that this partnership is workable? Should there be national standards that limit the flexibility of states to determine the level of contribution? Should this be a program that is entirely assumed by either the states or by the federal government? Why or why not?

In order to find support for your answer, you may wish to check individual states’ Department of Health websites. They provide information regarding Medicaid benefits to people who live within individual states, and can be fascinating to read given the disparities that exist between states especially in different per capita income brackets(The name of the course is Health care Ethics) no cover page please!!!
