Task Description:
In this assignment you will be given a real catchment in need of remediation and it will be your job to outline a restoration plan and support your decisions using information from the peer reviewed literature. More details will be provided during semester.
Criteria & Marking:
Students will be marked on the relevance of the assignment to the question, use of peer review journal material, ability to synthesise information and write coherently with minimal grammatical and spelling errors.

1 Have basic knowledge of principles defining the role of hydrology in the structure and functioning of river systems

4 An understanding of the influence of catchment processes on water quality of receiving water bodies estuaries and lakes
5 Have a clear understanding of the impacts of water resource development on hydrology and river ecosystems and understand the concepts, need for and methods for environmental flows for rivers
6 Have an understanding of the outcomes of different environmental flow methods, and their links to management actions
7 Have an understanding of the broad scientific literature in relation to the subject area
8 Summarise, analyse and effectively communicate the findings of scientific journal articles
