This is NOT a research essay; if you use secondary sources, use them judiciously. If you use secondary sources, use them for evidence for your argument not as a filler. Cite your ideas, use works cited, not bibliography. Do not use the terms “issue” or “stressed”, my professor hates these words and wants us to use something else. Should be written with no grammatical mistakes because it is a fourth year English paper. Paragraphs should be proper length, not too long and not too short. Thesis statement should tell the reader what the argument should be, ideally last sentence of first paragraph. Every topic sentence in each paragraph should link back to the thesis statement. Use quotations judiciously, do not use them as fillers for the essay. Cite ideas that do not belong to you. The book is Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, ISBN is 978-0-7434-8758-0. I will be including the last graded essay so you can see what the professor wanted. She said there was a lot of repetition and that the thesis wasn’t strong enough along with the transitioning sentences.
