The Evolution and Analysis of World Politics

1. Find a news article 2. summarize the news event or issue, relate the issue to the “unit 2” concepts, and then develop a question to ask on the threaded discussion. 3. This unit addresses the evolving world system from its early development into the 21st century. The goal will be to establish a historical foundation on which to build an analysis of international relations. The unit will also sketch the evolution of the current and rapidly changing world political system. In effect, the polar structure of the world system changes according to the power dynamics of its actors, which is based on the belief that there are general patterns to these interactions. The second part of the unit will introduce levels of analysis as an analytical tool for evaluating world politics. Should the focus be at the system level (i.e., nature of the world and the interaction of the system’s units), at the state level (i.e., how countries make foreign policy) or at the individual level (i.e., study of people as individuals or as a species)? The unit attempts to answer this question. Each approach adds increased nuance to our understanding of the international system. Hence, it is vital to comprehend all levels of analysis in order to more fully evaluate international political phenomena. 4. I will upload the example for this kind of work. 5. I will also upload some course materials, but I don’t have the textbook to provide (but I believe you the expert of this major, and you know the knowledge on the unit)
