The influence of culture on the imagination in architecture
Abstract
Culture has a direct impact on the imagination in architecture in every civilization. By analyzing architectural constructions of a particular civilization, the scientists can explore not only the principles and techniques by which they were built, but also define the religious beliefs and the level of spiritual development. The architecture can be considered a “mirror” that reflects the basic principles of a particular epoch. Once, Goethe called the architecture a “frozen symphony”. This metaphor has a very accurate description of its importance just like the music is an integral and unique part of any civilization.
The architecture acts as a simulation of the external and inner world of a nation, describing the whole system of relations and people`s interactions. The architecture affects the organization, modeling, improvement, and development of the world in general, the society and the separate individual. To create the architecture means to understand the world, its self-fulfillment, its existence, the essence of its creation. There is no doubt that the architecture plays an important role in the idea formation. The idea of the essence is united in communication, interaction, but has no tangible, sensually perceived forms of existence. The architectural heritage analysis of a particular civilization can determine the cultural level of it
