The Purpose of the Questionnaire

The Department of Tourism Management, University of Waikato, has been asked to assess residents’ views with respect to the development of tourism in Raglan. We would very much appreciate your help and support in this. I want to reassure you that your answers are given in total confidence: indeed it is not possible to identify you from your responses. The report that will result from this study will be given to Tourism Raglan.

Introduction

This question has 3 sections. The first asks for your views about Raglan and what makes it special. The second uses a set of standard questions that will enable us to make comparisons with other parts of New Zealand. We then ask for your views as to how you think tourism could affect Raglan. Finally, we ask for a data about yourself that will enable us to categorise responses; for example, what do older people think when compared with younger people.
