1a. Conduct literature reviewed at least 15 published articles regarding PICC insertion criteria in Geriatric Setting.
1b. Discuss the literature review to my mentor regarding finding from the articles from the articles about the PICC line
1c. Review current policies and procedures about PICC line insertion guidelines.
1d. Identify current issues regarding PICC line referrals.
1e. Review 10 PICC line placement orders and review PICC clinical log to check for accuracy and appropriateness of physician order.

Discuss educational material for staff RN’s in Geriatric setting
2a. Interview atleast three PICC line and staff nurses including my mentor regarding effective interventions to access PICC line insertion.
2b. Meet with selected stakeholders such as physicians, staff nurses, Department manager and staff educator in order to familiarize them with this project goal and gain their buy in.
2c. Develop an educational content for a powerpoint presentation, educational materials, and handouts on order guidelines for PICC insertion . 2a. Documented interview minutes and mentor feedback in my practicum portfolio.
2b. Reviewed the process to selected stakeholders. Meeting date was set with all the stakeholders. All information communicated clearly via email. Documented meeting minutes and mentor feedback in my practicum portfolio.

3b. Provide in-service in a geriatric setting to assess the effectiveness of learning regarding guidelines for PICC placement.
3c. Conduct a post test after the in-service.
3d. Display Guideline for PICC insertion posters in the selected Geriatric setting. 3a. Documented pre-test results and mentors feedback in my practicum portfolio.
