1. Can you think of some examples of moral panics in our society? What are they concerned with? How are they formed?
2. What role do moral panics play in securing popular support for dominant values and policies? What is the role of the media in both instigating and combating moral panics?
3. Do the media reflect the dominant morality or do they also shape it?
4. How should cultural studies respond to these moral panics?
5. Does cultural studies have a duty? Is the concept of responsibility important for cultural studies students and scholars?
