I’m a single mom so I was thinking choosing a movie about a single mom like in Single Mom’s Club or Chocolat or Spanglish could be good. It can also be writers choice of a movie and developmental topic if none of those are interesting to you. Other topics you could pick a movie on could be adolescent development or suicide or aging. You choose. Please follow the directions below after you pick a movie to review.
Movie Review(40 pts). Watch a movie that deals in some way with human development. There are many movies out there that deal with topics of great interest to people interested in human development. Movies, for example, deal with adolescence, loss, aging, becoming a parent, trauma, etc. You should select your movie within the next week. The report should be a minimum of 5 double-spaced typewritten pages (1 inch margins, 12 pt font). This assignment is assessed in four ways:

A.Overview of the movie and the salient plot highlights (10 points).
B.Analysis of two developmental issues portrayed in the movie (e.g. aging, culture, divorce, single parenthood, violence), using three of the major theoretical orientations (psychoanalytic, learning, cognitive developmental, and contextual) discussed in class and in the textbook (10 points).
C.Select one of the major developmental issues (described in Book) and examine the research literature (3 empirical journal articles) regarding that issue. Briefly describe the research articles and whether they are in line with how the issue is depicted in the movie. Provide some concluding comments regarding this particular issue. (10 points)
D.Quality of writing (10 points).
