Let’s talk about the performance review Nick received from Warren.
Would you accept the review if you were Nick?
What would you want to be different and why?what could Warren do to provide better feedback to Nick?
Class, where I worked before in an I.T. department, many people were promoted into management with no prior management training, but since our organization was so large, they had ongoing training for new supervisors/managers.  Could Warren’s reluctance to thoroughly discuss Nick’s performance be due partly to lack of training?  Why are some managers uncomfortable or reluctant to discuss areas in which employees need to improve, and as a consultant, how can you help them in this area?

2-when you were a weekly Team Leader, what went right in your responses to your teammates about their contributions – or as a team member, what went right in your team leader’s response to you?
3-Class, how can you reach out to team members, whether in class or in the workplace, who might not be participating as you think they should while still showing respect to all team members and maintaining trust that is so important in teams?  For those of you who have great teams, what recommendations can you give those who might be having problems to help them rebuild trust and cohesiveness in the team?
