Night Reaction Paper

The Reaction Paper should be three to four pages in length, double-spaced and typewritten. In the paper, please observe the following:

Address the following in your paper:

* What were the goals of Hitler’s New Order? How are they reflected in Night ?

* How was the Holocaust a logical conclusion of some of the dangerous forces at work in European society since the latter part of the 19th century? Discuss those forces and how they relate to Night.

* Reread the “Never shall I forget” passage on page 34. Discuss why this passage can be seen as the central theme of Wiesel’s book.

* Also, explain the significance of the sentence “Within a few seconds, we had ceased to be men” to understanding the concentration camp experience.
