Who or what will you study and how? What do you hope to learn? What research gap might you fill? What Internal Review Board approval will you seek? How will you gain access to these subjects? How many subjects will your study need? How will you collect the data?

Assignment Question

The FINAL PROJECT will contain the following sections. Each chapter should incorporate items and material from earlier drafts but must show evidence of growth of your research and your thoughts on the topic. These chapters should be longer and more sophisticated in their organization, content, and presentation in order to reflect the reading and analysis you have done since the original drafts were submitted. Chapter 1: The introduction of the problem that includes a statement of the problem, a hypothesis if appropriate, the importance of the problem, definitions of important terms and the rationale for the topic. You may include statistics that show the scope or importance of your problem or brief references to research that may have sparked your interest or contributed to the formulation of the research question(s). Chapter 2: A review of the literature. A critical evaluation of what has been written on the topic and what the literature says both pro and con.

Your task is to evaluate and synthesize the literature. Do all researchers agree on the problem and issues concerned? What are the similarities and differences? Is one camp or group more persuasive, more powerful, in the majority? Chapter 3: Methodology. You are to design an Action Research study that can produce reliable, valid data related to your problem statement. Who or what will you study and how? What do you hope to learn? What research gap might you fill? What Internal Review Board approval will you seek? How will you gain access to these subjects? How many subjects will your study need? How will you collect the data? How will you justify the decisions you have made regarding the number of participants you will study (sampling) or the means (for example standardized tests, questionnaires, interviews, direct observation) that you will use to collect data? Design an appropriate questionnaire or formulate survey or interview questions to obtain the information you will need. What criteria need to be established? What will be the limitations of your study?

Chapter 4. Analysis, discussion/conclusion, and reflection on the InTASC and/or ISTE Standards and how the completion of the final project affected your capacity 9|Page to reflect upon and use constructive suggestions to enhance the teaching and learning process. In the analysis you will discuss your plan for distilling, categorizing, coding, analyzing and interpreting the data to learn what the data says about your topic, research question or research question. Based on you reading and research, what do you expect the results to be? How does your study relate to others? What might be future research questions related to your study?

Synthesize! In your conclusion, include a reflection on which of the InTASC and/or ISTE Standards you addressed when completing the final project and its affect upon your capacity to use constructive suggestions to enhance the teaching and learning process. References – All work must follow the 7th edition APA format. It is imperative that you proof-read and submit a well-written research proposal in terms of thought, written expression and grammar.
