Why did the Articles of Confederation create a weak central government? How did the perceived failures of the Articles as well as the problems leaders encountered in the “critical period” contribute to the desire to amend them or replace them in the late 1780s? Directions After reading the material and considering the questions, compose a post of at least three paragraphs that reflect what you learned from reading the Articles and History in the Making. After making your initial post, you should respond to at least two of your classmates. You are also encouraged to interject other observations or comments about the Articles of Confederation in your posts. If someone challenges your interpretation of the evidence, be sure to respond specifically to that challenge in the course of the discussion. You should proofread your posts before you submit them. More importantly, you must cite any summaries, paraphrases or quotations from the source material you used as evidence for this activity. Failure to do so is a violation of the eCore Academic Honesty Policy. Chicago style is preferred for your citations, but MLA is acceptable. You can find samples of both formats under Content/Course Resources/Sample Citations. At this stage of the semester, you should be able to format your citations properly in Chicago or MLA, and I will consider that in assessing your documentation
