To prepare for answering the question review chapters three (equality and injustice), four (nature and values of capitalism), and six (consumers), and read pgs. 320-325 (12th ed.) or pgs. 324-330 (13th ed.) “Why do we consume so much” by Juliet Schor.
Answer the following question in a 3-4 page essay:

Would it be good for us as individuals and for society as a whole to escape from the culture of excessive consumption? Is this goal possible? If so, how? If not, why not? On what moral grounds do you base your answer?
