Write a brief reflective essay on your experiences in English Composition.
Discuss your whole experience in composition, whether it began with coursework at another university, ENGL 101, 101B, 102, 1000, 1001, or 2089. If you had to start with preparatory coursework or had to repeat a course, talk about what you learned that helped you reach and complete 2089. If you earned advanced placement, talk about the impact of that decision on your work in 2089. Your discussion should address ENGL 2089 but should reflect on your entire experience in order to do so.
Also, connect your experiences to your future writing tasks. In other words, how will your learning in English Composition classes impact your writing in future college courses and perhaps even in your career?
As with other work in this course, your writing must be guided by some sense of organization. Your paper should have a thesis letting the reader know where the paper will go, and your comments should have a clear beginning, middle, and end, and not simply ramble. Your paper should be in the first person—use “I.”
The ethnography paper is one you might consider as a “culminating” assignment; I’m particularly interested in seeing you analyze how it fits into the rest of your college-level writing.
To write this I will give you a brief history of my composition history for which you can make up what you want after including my history. Also I will give you my 3 completed papers along with the assignment layout to give you an idea of what I have done in this course and learned. My background consists of me doing poorly in English when I first attended college in 2009 to where I dropped out but then I came back this last fall semester and did very well producing strong writing in the intro english course(English 101) that I retook. Then I came to this English 2089 course where I didn’t do nearly as well but still ok. So then other than that and the papers/assignments I am going to provide you can make up whatever you want and ask whatever you want. This is like a narrative reflection type so most things go.
