To assess your understanding of the rhetorical analysis, read Heather Robinson’s “I Am Not A Babysitter” from the October 11, 2008 edition of Newsweek, now titled “In Defense of Teachers”(available online at https://www.newsweek.com/my-turn-defence-teachers-92149 (Links to an external site.) or accessible as a PDF on Canvas by clicking and downloading FinalExamReading.pdfView in a new window), and write a rhetorical analysis on the article, arguing whether or not Robinson is effective in reaching her readers. Be sure to include paragraphs on each of the three rhetorical elements, as well as a paragraph on the audience Robinson is trying to reach.
Note on the final — you must utilize proper MLA formatting in order for this to be graded. Make sure you’re quoting or paraphrasing the article — I’d recommend at least three quotes or paraphrases in the paper, make sure you’re providing citations for each of them, and be sure to include a Works Cited page with all pertinent info accounted for. (It’s an online article, so you want to include the date it was published and the date you accessed it in the bibliography.)
