How Conspiracy theories shape news
Blogger, thank you for your commitment in supporting this blog, your visitations are most welcome. Now the last article attempted to examine the interrelation between news and conspiracy theories. This article will argue on how conspiracy theories pioneer the development of news to some extent. Consequently, the page will also explain how conspiracy theories evolve to news in the various stages of their development. The goal is to argue on the concept of skepticism and how skepticism enlightens the masses in particular.
Saletan (2013) argues that conspiracy theories formed the largest bulk of 9/11 news. Americans felt displaced on the validity of the 9/11 attacks. In any case, the knowledge by thirty percent of Americans that 9/11 news was organized and sponsored by the federal government trigger the notion that; conspiracy theories do have some considerate validity. Saletan’s argument concurs with Donmes (Nomes, 2102) validation that conspiracy theories attempts to examine the social-political factors, and how they are significant in analyzing time, and providing needed information to the society. This blog supports the use of conspiracy theories to position news since conspiracy theories are investigative and they attempt to examine issues which affect human beings directly.
However, it is prudent to analyze the role of skeptical ideologies and how they impact social-economic reflections of the society. In any event, it is good to note that conspiracy theories present an alternative flow of the story which is not considerably different from what the media preach. Cook (2009, p.33), depicts the 9/11 case a sophisticated development of 9/11. In his text, it is clear that news anchors feed heavily from conspiracy theories, therefore, proving how conspiracy theories operate back to back with news. The upcoming article will examine how news grounded on conspiracy theories is viewed by the general public.
