Cleaning the Environment
Problems comprise a regular part of our routine life. Usually, issues will always occupy the environment regardless of the people inhabiting these respective areas. Nonetheless, the manner in which the problems undergo management and resolution identifies the difference that a certain community may have in comparison to other societies. In my respect, it was imperative for us to focus on cleaning our environment. For a number of years, the surroundings occupied by our environment were always serene, welcoming and safe to accommodate. However, recent construction undertakings have led to a rapid deterioration of the environment. The materials as well as the debris that arises from the erection of buildings within the community in the form of development considerably polluting the environment that our community has lived in over the course of history. Nevertheless, there are certain procedures we devised, applied and implemented in order to curb the resulting problem.
In general, pollution represents a considerable problem for communities to mitigate. With the extensive industrialization of society and the predisposition towards a global hegemonic society, the need for environmental conservation has faced a considerable decrease (Melosi 56). In addition, creating ways of solving environmental degradation usually experience obstacles that force the people from engaging in conservation efforts. In this particular case, a few individuals as well as charitable organizations have attempted to conserve the small-scale environment within the local township. Regardless of these efforts, the municipal council has unwillingly negated all these complaints on proceeded on with supporting the careless pollution of the surroundings we occupied. However, with the new age of freedom and liberated thought, my comrades and I were determined to raise awareness of the pollution occurring in our community as well as disseminating the importance of conserving our environment.
In order to do this, we began using social media. Through online media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, we were able to create social posts that discussed the current pollution of the environment that was taking place within our community. This was the first step of our problem resolution plan. Additionally, it was also important to gain followers in order to initiate a considerable effort of raising awareness. However, the number of followers exceeded to a point that we did not expect. This is because our community is intact, compact and constitutes hospitable members. Because of this, it was imperative for us to consider creating an account in Facebook and Twitter that was solely comprised of the members of our community. The account would eventually comprise over 500 members of our respective community.
Due to the increasing numbers of the members, we were able to exert a considerable influence in the communities surrounding us. Therefore, in order to make use of our numbers, we focused on creating the Stop Pollution Community Group. This group was largely comprised of the members of our respective community. In addition to this, we urged our members to persuade their friends and relatives to join the group. Because of this action, we were able to have over 1000 members within our group. The next step involved urging the members to engage with us in an effort to clean the environment. Furthermore, I had to influence the municipal council to provide us with permits to engage in the event, and to my surprise, most of the council officials supported me and promised to come to the function. Accordingly, the event, which took place over the weekend, saw thousands of people cleaning up the environment.
In conclusion, even though the community environment is still far from being completely clean, the recent efforts by our not-for-profit group are slowly changing the negative effect of building construction on the overall environment. In addition to these efforts, we are currently educating the children of our respective community on the dangers of polluting the environment. Equally important, we are also using the Instagram application in order to create pictures of the community members and their friends and family engaging in conservation efforts.
