Develop a plan for integrating an innovative technology, PDAs into a learning environment for administrative or nursing personnel in hospital setting. The objective is to advance the use of an innovative technology (PDAs) in a learning environment that will produce an improvement in learning or in supporting a learning environment technologically in the hospital (example; an administrative process within an organization (PDAs to chart patient records, PDAs for other hospital usage and focus on technology advancement for physicians and nurses today). How can nurses and doctors use PDAs to enhance learning and to better serve the healthcare organization.
Discuss how you will train nurses on the PDA technology, socialize, support, and utilize technology in enhancing the learning environment for nurses and hospital employees in healthcare and you are building your plan to support technology and nursing education.
Select a hospital that is using PDA technology and identify a need or challenge within an administrative department, and produce a plan for the department to improve the performance, effectiveness, and efficiency using PDA’s as an innovative technology.
Your plan must include:
An evaluation of the current activities or processes used in the hospital or administrative department identifying how the leaders or administration are performing in meeting institutional and or program objectives, initiatives, and performance goals.
A thorough evaluation of current learning, instructional design, and business theory that will provide a theoretical basis for building your plan. The rational for your recommendations must be supported by theory and be evidence-based. You must mention what theory ties to this plan ( for example: instructional design, or business theory etc.)
Conduct an evaluation of current research focused on innovative technological tools, applications, media, and technology enhanced environments in education for hospital nursing personnel.
The plan must detail employee expectations(nursing and physicians and administrators of the hospital) and learning styles, as they relate to the use of technology. Considerations must be detailed for the current generation of employees, faculty, and administrators now, and 5 years into the future.
Using current learning, business, and instructional design theory; employee expectations, access to technology, and other relevant issues; clearly articulate how the innovative technology you will plan for will be socialized, supported, and utilized in enhancing the learning environment.
Develop the assessment strategies that will be used to measure the effectiveness of the innovative technology your plan will support.
Identify and describe the risks associated with your recommendation(s) and how these risks will be mitigated. Describe how the plan will improve nursing educational equity and diversity in the hospital or healthcare organization and the population being served.
Discuss the costs of PDAs , training cost, timeline, and training requirements the nursing education leaders of hospital organization/administration will need to consider in implementing the plan (PDAs).
