Analyze how history is presented. Does it do a good job?

The paper details from the course syllabus are below. The historical site that I chose was Fort Fisher ( https://www.nchistoricsites.org/fisher/fisher.htm ). The syllabus details that I visit the site, but it is not possible as I am working out of state. This is what the instructor told me – “You can choose a site that has a web presence. That way instead of critiquing the site itself, you can critique the website.”

Choose a North Carolina historical site (state or federal site, museum, interpretive center, exhibit, etc.) to visit and relate its significance to NC history. Projects must be a 5-6 page, 12-point font, double-spaced analysis. (This means at least 5 full pages with standard margins.) Your sources should include at least two primary sources and five secondary sources.

These projects must include:

1)Title of Project, Author’s Name, HIST 341-51, and Date.

2)Include in a narrative format (without subtitle headings) an introduction, main body of text, and

conclusion.

3)BE SURE to PLACE the site into its historical context.

a.Answer why this site should be important to North Carolinians.

b.Provide a well-researched background history

about the site.

c.Analyze how the history is presented. Does it do a good job? What categories does it take the

visitor through? Does the site consider race, gender, class, or community issues in its public

presentation. What does the site want to project to the viewer?

d.Does it gloss over or ignore important parts of the history? What could it do better?

Bibliography: You must use at least two primary sources and five secondary sources. Wikipedia or other such online sources are not acceptable.

Within the text of your paper you MUST use parenthetical reference (MLA) if you are not a history major.
