Essay Guidelines:
The essay accounts for 30% of the total assessment for this unit
The essay must be 3,000 words (maximum) in length
Essays must contain consistent academic referencing and a bibliography of source material
The essay should have a logical structure/flow, as follows:
(1) an introduction setting out the aims/questions/hypotheses (2) main body of essay giving main arguments which may be divided into clear (sub)sections (3) Conclusion section which summarises key argument/findings; and refers back to the aims set in the introduction
The essay should clearly and logically make reference to source material (e.g. Harvard referencing style), may use footnotes if necessary, and provide a bibliography
The essay should not just be descriptive, but should contain evidence of your own analysis of the source material and evidence of your own opinion and thought on the topic
