Course Project Requirements
Your final course project will consist of an APA style essay on one of the topics that is listed below in the table. You may choose a differing topic that directly relates to the course with instructor permission. You may choose to include in your paper how this topic may relate to your life experience or interests however that is not a requirement.
You are required to use a minimum of three academic resources to write this paper with your course textbook being an optional fourth resource. This assignment will be graded based on content presented, proper research and organization (including proper APA documentation), as well as proper use of grammar and spelling.
Begin researching for your project throughout Unit One. I strongly recommend utilizing the ECPI Online library to conduct your research

In Unit Two you will submit your topic for approval. In Unit Three you will submit your thesis statement for feedback, and in Unit Four a list of your three required references will be due. The final paper is due by the close of Unit Five.

The minimum length requirement is 1,000 words (not including your References or title pages)
APA format requires your paper to be double-spaced, 12 point font, 1 inch margins, and Times New Roman or Arial font.
Introductory paragraph w/ thesis statement which properly introduces topic to reader & sets up the body of the paper.
Proper flow throughout paper – a paragraph to paragraph flow of ideas blending concepts, experiences and research to construct a well-presented narrative.
Conclusion paragraph (effectively sums up entire paper)
Clear & concise writing style
A minimum of three academic sources, which will be cited on the reference page in APA format. You may also use your textbook as a fourth optional resource. Your resources may include journal articles, books, or academic websites and should come from our ECPI library.
A References page is required (listing your sources in APA format)
Topic: The Miss diagnostic of Bipolar Disorder
Thesis Statement:
Accurate diagnosis of mood disorders is critical for treatment to be effective. Often patients with bipolar disorder
are diagnosed with Depression by the current practice, because is very hard to distinguish between major depression and
bipolar disorder, but the treatment, their genetics, clinical course, outcomes, prognosis are very different. The
misdiagnosing of bipolar disorder deprives patients of timely and potentially lifesaving treatment.
