Cheesecake Factory

Cheesecake Factory

The Cheesecake factory is a renowned restaurant in the United States. Evelyn Overton and Oscar have a superb legacy of establishing the factory in 1949.  Since its establishment, the hotel has grown tremendously both on its sales and revenues. It has also had a great opportunity of attracting new clients and converting them to frequent and potential clients. The success of this company largely depends on the code of business ethics, which have created a strong ground for everyone to abide to the set rules and regulations. The “Code of Ethics” enables our staff members to compile with the legal standard.  In this context, this paper seeks to discuss the Cheesecake Factory’s code of conduct that is of significance to the factory. Further, the paper will explain how the factory can engage employees to abide to the conduct of ethics and how it can socially participate in the community within which it operates.

In essence, the general standard of the factory’s code of conduct foster in the relationship of honesty, trust, and responsibility among employees and staff members. We believe that every person deserve to be treated with love, respect, and dignity. Every employee is obliged to celebrate and embrace the cultural diversity in the workforce. In the Article 111 of the ethics, the management team is obliged to compile with administrative and judicial orders (The Cheesecake Factory, 2012). The company expects those in the management such as Directors to engage in respect and honest when ruling others. Discrimination and injustice is not allowed regardless the differences that may emerge in culture, race, social status, and education among others.  Article V encourage confidentiality in the company. Basically, this article regard that the director or officer should never disclose any factory’s confidential information to a third party.  Additionally, this pamphlet necessitates the management team to observe and abide to the company’s procedures and policies. The mentioned articles play a crucial role to the company’s growth and productivity. For instance, by embracing diversity in the workplace the company embraces new ideas, opportunities, and innovations from diverse backgrounds. The company is more likely to flourish when the management protects the company’s information and lead by example both in their conduct and speech (Sunghyup & Han, 2012).

Conclusively, there are various steps that the company can take to ensure that employees follow the code of conduct. First, the company can organize trainings, seminars, and conferences that create awareness on the documented code of ethics and the benefits that emerge by complying with them. Secondly, the company should ensure that everyone understands the legal standards and adhere to the principles set forth.  In this case, the company may ask employees to sign the form of ethics and submit it to the management. The signature would indicate that one has read, comprehended, and agreed to abide to the set ethics. Thirdly, the company should establish ways of punishing those who violates the rules. Overall, our company has embraced these steps to foster a positive working environment that boost performance and productivity.

There are various ways that the factory can socially engage in the community.  For instance, the factory can express interest towards what is happening in the community and solving some local problems. A perfect illustration of this would be taking part in the development of the community  like cleaning the street, participating in community events, and helping the less privileged, orphans, and elderly people. Social responsibility could also be expressed in making donations or social, ecological, and cultural events.
