Countless scales have been developed to measure some characteristic or trait by which people can vary. An example of this type of scale is the Self-Monitoring Scale which you will complete (or have completed) in class. For this assignment, you will be creating a scale that measures some characteristic or trait upon which people could score low or high.
1. Choose a characteristic or trait by which people can vary. Describe it briefly.
2. Write 2 questions that could be part of a scale that helps determine if someone is high or low on that trait. Feel free to mimic the style of the Self-Monitoring Scale or to do a different style. For each question, identify the response that a person who REALLY has the trait would give (in other words, if I was “high” on that trait, tell me what my answer would be for each of the 2 questions).
3. Choose a product or service. Describe a marketing campaign (could be real or made up) that should be much more successful with the people who are “high” on the trait you were tapping than with the people who are “low” on the trait.
