This research paper will be comparing the two different styles of Carmen fantasies. The pieces that I want you to use are Carmen fantasy for violin by Franz Waxman and Carmen fantasy for violin Op.25 by Pablo de Sarasate.
The paper should not be about two composers’ background or history (for example, Franz Waxman was a Jewish-American composer who was born in 1906). I don’t want to see that kind of information in my paper. Please analyze these two pieces in most detail about how they use variations (theme), musical structures, violin techniques, figurations and how they use the original music from Bizet’s opera. You may want to write about the differences based on the period they lived since two composers lived in a two different epochs and would inevitably produce music of two different styles.
Please do use the scores I uploaded in a research paper as an example.
