After you have finished reading this weeks readings Total War, Totalitarianism and the Arts (Fiero, pp. 399-422) follow the directions and/or answer the questions below in your own words:
1. Choose one painting mentioned from this weeks reading. Upload a photo. Describe in great detail. Critique the work in your own words.
2. Choose one poem from World War 1 Literature from this weeks reading. Underneath the reading in your textbook, answer the questions below written in red print. For example, if you chose Reading 34.3 Yeats’ “The Second Coming” (1921), you would answer the question below in red, “Is the Second coming Yeats describes one of deliverance or destruction?” However, you can chose any one of World War I Literature Readings 34.1-34.4 (pp.402-405). What is the poem about? What does it mean to you?

Explain what propaganda is in your own words. In what ways does propaganda influence people’s opinions? What are the basic propaganda techniques that Leni Rifenstahl uses in Triumph of the Will? Describe what you were feeling when you watched Triumph of the Will. Are we subjected to propaganda in todays world? In what ways?
