Design an inTRA-organizational diversity initiative that you design to address a real-world challenge in the policies, protocols and procedures, customs and traditions, and/or relationships inside a specific organization.
#1 Start with the macrosocial critical theory from Unit 2.0, which frames the macrosocial problem for a problem-oriented, solution-driven inTRA-organizational design (a) in distributions of social power to racialized communities that takes form in aggregated data as plainly oppresive (Bonilla-Silva, 1997, pp. 000) and (b) in the contemporary historical moment of a color-blind racial formation (Omi & Winant, 2015, pp. 000)
#2 Recall the histories of interpersonal relations between whites and enslaved persons in America’s colleges (Wilder, 2014), management theory and practice (Roediger & Esch, 2014) and my point that an historical residue of these histories remain (e.g., as institutional whiteness; Ahmed, 2012; as intellectual traditions; Nkomo & Hoobler, 2014).
3# Recall the microsocial critical theory from Unit 2.0 (Essed, 2002; Neville et al. 2013; Sue et al., 2007) AND the empirical research on hiring practices (Brief at al., 2000) and personnel evaluations (Reeves, 2014).
#4 Zero in on some aspect of interpersonal moments that take place in the historical residue as racial microaggressive acts or as power evasion (or something else you take from the microsocial critical theory) AND that takes organizational form in management practice or in management-labor relationships that your diversity initiative will address in an actual place of employment.
#5 start thinking about HOW your diversity initiative will address the problem and how upper-level management and/or the owner(s) will know when it is working effectively and/or has accomplished its objective.
Use 1-3 as references or ideas to build on.
Use #4&5 to construct your 8-10 page paper.
APA style format.
