You will need to do the following:
1. Read the following position statements:
• Code of ethical conduct and statement of commitment
• Developmentally appropriate practice in programs serving children ages birth through age 8
2. For each of the position statements, provide a response. Include the following in your response:
• What is the purpose of the position statement?
• What aspect of early childhood education practice does it address? What is the relevancy of the aspect?
• What are the main tenets or principles stated through the position statement?
• As an early childhood teacher candidate, what are the implications of the statement for professional practice? Select those that in your opinion are most relevant.
• What are some of the classroom applications of the topics presented in the statement (how would it be reflected or used in the classroom?)
3. Based on your readings of the Code of Ethics and the statement on Developmentally appropriate practices, complete and submit your reflective commentaries. Be sure to follow the APA guidelines.
