ASSIGNMENT: YOU INC.
You, Inc. is a public communication exercise designed to provide you with a persuasive presentation you will be able to adjust to adapt throughout your career. Use the model that follows.
The Assignment:
The Company
Select a major corporation you might wish to work for during your career. It should not be the company you currently work for. Research that company online.
Find at least 10 links about the company and post them in THE DISCUSSION BUTTON FOR ALL CLASS MEMBERS TO SEE. You will work some of this information into your presentation.
The Presentation
Your job is to create and present a 2 minute presentation in which you do several things:

Introduction
I. Begin with an interesting story or statistic about you or the company.
II. Let your audience know what you will be telling them.
Body
I. Information about the company
II. Your training and experience which qualifies or will qualify you to work for the company.Include specific examples of jobs or courses which help qualify you for the company.
III. Personal qualities you have which will entice the company to hire you. For example, you may be persistent, resilient, etc. You will want to include examples from your life that illustrate the qualities.
Conclusion
I. Summarize the presenation in one sentence.
II. Wrap up the presentation by referring back to the story or stat you began the speech with.

I suggest you examine the public speaking chapters as well as the Interviewing chapter for ideas to include in the exercise. If we have time we may be able to focus on some of the challenges people are having
