Discuss the Lack of conflict resolution.

Scholarly Paper (current curriculum issue)
The developments today, especially the rapid progress of technology, globalization and the interrelatedness of cultures led to lack of proper balance between modern lifestyle and social life. Conversely to the world development, the lack of solving problem skills in the curricula contributes to make the gab bigger. Students from all ages lack problem-solving skills. Consequently, in the future students will face many difficulties that challenge them in their practical life such as the labour market requirements requires the individual to have great thinking skills along solving problem skills. Thus, educator should meet the needed requirements and fill the gap in the curricula by realizing the importance of problem-solving and decision-making skills. Clearly the issue is the lack of problems solving or conflict resolution skills in the educational curricula. This lack has implications on students themselves and the society all together.
The curriculum consists of many elements that begin with educational objectives and ends with assessment. The curriculum in some educational systems works according to the traditional approach, in which focuses on knowledge and stuffed information as an important aspect of learning. Thus the fundamental goal of education became limited in providing learners with information and overlooked other aspects of learners’ growth. However, as a result of the continuous world developments along with the changing in social lifestyle the concept of the curriculum should not be limited in stuffing students’ brains with bunch of information. The curriculum should be updated to achieve and keep pace with these changes in accordance with the values and principles of the community. The shifting in the concept of the curriculum requires introducing modern trends of the construction the curriculum and renewing educational discourse that is moving towards the modern concept of the curriculum.
Another problem comes as consequence of not updating the curriculum which is the current curriculum lack conflict resolution. This implementing has become necessary due the globalization and cultures interrelatedness. The lack of a Conflict Resolution curriculum or problem solving skills has negative implications. Many students end up graduating without being equipped with the necessary skills of conflict management. This may have dire consequences in the future given that inexistence of citizens who have skills who do not understand conflict resolution mechanism could lead to serious war. Obviously the need of updating and implementing a new content to curriculum has become vital requirement lately. This comes under the curricula committee responsibility that should take in consideration the culture and values of the country. Any implemented curricula come after fully studied process according to strands beings with identifying the needed content and ends with the evaluations.
The process of updating or implementing the curriculum entails systematic approach. Which is wrongly assumed that the process ends with the publication the new curricula. The successful curriculum committee is continues to oversee the implementation, updating and evaluation of the curriculum. It is important to remember that this implementation requires time and support to be fully implemented. Such as teachers need time to become familiar with the new curriculum.
Introducing a new curriculum poses a veracity of challenges to teachers along with the underlying assumption and objectives, the content, the subject demarcations, the teaching approach and the methods of assessment. Curriculum innovation could be restricted by several factors that have been identified in the literature, these factors are related to teachers and the context in which the innovation is taking place. **** include issues of time, parental expectations, public examinations, unavailability of required instructional materials, lack of clarity about curriculum reform, teachers’ lack of skills and knowledge. On the other hand, the obstacles relate to organisational arrangements for instance role overload, reporting systems, and failure of administrations to recognise and understand its role in change.
**** Detailed the obstacles of implementing a new curriculum “The Nature of the Topic Itself” is one of them. He emphasized on the need to workshop educators intensively on the content prior to the materials being used in the classroom as away to deal with these difficulties. Another challenge is related to the teachers centered in creating a greater burden on teachers by introducing or updating a new curriculum.
As a way to avoid these challenges, there are several pieces of research and guidance had been done for the curriculum developer assisting them by providing description to curriculum development and design. Peyton and Peyton (1998) note that the curricular cycle “involves development through needs assessment, design and implementation phases. After this, outcomes are reviewed and evaluated against the original needs assessment. Needs change with societal expectations. The emphasis on different aspects varies with the participants’ and teachers’ perceived needs. The dynamic curriculum requires change and resource management”
