A new small two storey office block has just been built, and your company have been asked to quote for the lighting (inside and outside). You are part of a team working on the tender.
Identify a suitable luminary to use in the 20 space car park, explain its construction, operation and associated circuitry.

Identify a suitable luminary to use in the main office space, explain its construction, operation and associated circuitry.

Using the luminary identified in question 2, design a suitable lighting scheme for the main office space and produce a scale drawing of the luminary layout. The overall illumination is to be 415 lux on the desktops, which are 900mm above the finished floor level, and the ceiling is 4m above the finished floor level. It has been estimated that the room utilisation factor will be 0.77, and the maintenance factor will be 0.92. A sketch of the office floor plan has been provided (below).

You have been tasked with determining which industrial tariff to use for the small factory which you work at.

Describe three different general industrial tariff structures; include details of the type of business that would suit each tariff structure.
The current supplier has provided the following three commercial tariffs (shown below) and the Managing Director has decided to use them again. All units are charged at 27.90 ppu
Maximum demand is charged at £6.75 per KVA per annum

Tariff C
First 1500 units in a quarter is charged at 23.89 ppu
All additional units in the quarter charged at 18.89 ppu
Maximum demand is charged at £7.45 per KVA per annum
